Before and after, part 5

The remnant

In today’s post, you’ll find references to the remnant—a small number of people who remain. When I use the word remnant, I’m referring to true believers and followers of Jesus Christ. Here’s our key verse:

…at this present time also
there is a remnant, [chosen by] grace.

Romans 11:5, New Heart English Bible

Throughout time, the remnant of God’s people—although surrounded by unbelief on all sides—rested spiritually in the Lord.

In part 3 of Before and After, we explored The Main Event—when the Lord fought for the nation of Judah against three armies. What an epic miracle. In part 4, we unpacked the back-story and the Before Event—when King Jehoshaphat partnered with King Ahab in war. If you missed part 4, it’s a patriotic must-see!

Today on Choosing Peace, we’ll cover the After Event. Get ready to read about a real estate development, Butterfly Moon and a horse.

The divided kingdom

King Jehoshaphat of Judah and King Ahab of Israel had little in common, other than their very distant ancestors: the 12 brothers who became the 12 tribes of Israel. Jehoshaphat followed the Lord God of his ancestors. Ahab practiced the occult, worshiping Baal. Jehoshaphat removed pagan/occult worship sites from Judah. Ahab built pagan/occult worship sites in Israel.

During Ahab’s reign, the prophet Elijah killed 450 prophets of Baal. Four hundred and fifty satanic prophets. Needless to say, the occult was big business in Israel. Very big business. But even in Israel, God’s remnant remained—including the prophet Elijah.

For military aspects of the divided kingdom, see part 4.

Key players

Let’s zero-in on important facts about three of the key players in this story: Jehoshaphat, Ahab and Jezebel. Why include Jezebel? Because her rampant evil stood at the epicenter of Israel’s idolatry—fueling destruction far and wide.

But there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
1 Kings 21:25-26, New Heart English Bible

“Ahab… sold himself to do… evil,” which “Jezebel his wife stirred up.” Read the two verses above a second time.

Following idols—Ahab and Jezebel

Note that Ahab followed “idols”—plural—“according to all that the Amorites did” (v. 26). That is a colossal indictment. And Jezebel was the queen in that department—also acting “very abominably in following idols” (v. 26). She modeled, incited and pushed her husband’s wicked conduct. Let’s call her The Dark Queen.

We think of idol worship as bowing down to a statue, but there’s much more to it than that, depending on which pagan group we’re talking about. The Amorites, mentioned above, descended from Canaan and lived in the land called Canaan. What do we know about the people of Canaan? In Leviticus 18 thru 20, we find their abominations and depravity—(1) incest, (2) fornication, (3) adultery, (4) idolatry, (5) child sacrifice (burning babies to death during pagan/satanic rituals), (6) homosexuality, (7) bestiality, (8) cutting themselves, (9) tattoos, (10) trafficking, (11) prostitution, and (12) the occult—mediums, necromancers, omens and fortune-tellers.

Then and now

I wrote about the Canaanites in the epic story of Joseph. From this post:

Jacob’s heart belonged to God. [Jacob was Joseph’s father.] His long-term neighbors, the Canaanites, served false gods and defiled themselves in their religious rituals, including prostitution, sorcery and murder. Their satanic practices were evil and extremely destructive.

Things are the same today….

Last week, my friend Noelle sent me some handwritten notes from a podcast. A CRU leader asked ChatGPT: “If you were the devil, what would you do?” Artificial Intelligence—the devil—gave eight schemes. The rampant sin described above sounds like this one.

Satanic Scheme #6:
“I’d desensitize you. I’d glamorize sin in movies, normalize it in music, laugh at it in comedy, and celebrate it in culture—until what once shocked you now entertains you.”

Let’s consider five key facts about each king and queen.

Top 5 times 3

I can’t imagine a starker difference between two kings than the chasm between Jehoshaphat and Ahab.

Jehoshaphat

1. Removed the pagan high places and Asherim out of Judah (2 Chronicles 17:6)
2. Taught his people about the Lord (2 Chronicles 17:7-9)
3. Allied himself with Ahab in marriage and war (see part 4)
4. Loved and served the Lord (2 Chronicles 17:3-4)
5. Trusted the word of the Lord and his prophets (2 Chronicles 20:13-18)

Ahab

1. Married Jezebel, daughter of the pagan Sidonian king (1 Kings 16:31)
2. Built a temple to Baal, including an altar for sacrifices (1 Kings 16:32)
3. Made an Asherah pole for worship of a fertility goddess (1 Kings 16:33)
4. Walked in Jeroboam’s ways—liberally recruiting pagan priests (1 Kings 16:31)
5. Coveted and later confiscated Naboth’s land, after Jezebel had him killed (1 Kings 21)

Jezebel—The Dark Queen

1. Killed the prophets of the Lord (1 Kings 18:13)
2. Mixed and mingled with satanic prophets (1 Kings 18:19)
3. Threatened to kill the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 19:1-2)
4. Plotted the murder of Naboth, who owned property next to the palace (1 Kings 21)
5. Taught their murderous daughter Athaliah, who married Jehoshaphat’s son (2 Kings 11:1)

Child sacrifice—satanic ritual murders

Was child sacrifice going on during Ahab’s reign? Yes, indeed. Jezebel, The Dark Queen, lived and died like the apex predator that she was—devouring and murdering. She would’ve especially relished the child sacrifices—the screaming, the gore, the murder.

In [Ahab’s] days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho: he laid its foundation [at the cost] of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates [at the cost] of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
1 Kings 16:34, New Heart English Bible

Joshua prophesied this disturbing event. Two children were murdered by their father to fund his big real estate development. He had to pay Satan the closing costs, don’t you know. I imagine the priests of Baal (or Molech) brokered the deal. “If you offer your son on the altar to Baal, he’ll reward you with the cash you need.” “Oh, you need more money to finish the development? Offer another son.” I imagine they used the altar Ahab built—the one mentioned two verses earlier.

Two posts from The Gift of the Bible address this issue.
Part 12: The relationship between child sacrifice and abortion
Part 13: Canaanite practices—then and now

So dark and gory.

Summary

Jehoshaphat of Judah had strong faith in God. He knew God personally and trusted him deeply. Unfortunately, he underestimated the destruction inherent in partnering with evil people—namely, King Ahab; Jezebel—The Dark Queen; and their daughter Athaliah.

From part 4:

The Before Event—war with Syria—led to King Jehoshaphat’s recommitment to the Lord, bringing the people back to the Lord, and a time of justice in Judah. Next came The Main Event when the Lord fought for Judah—displaying his mighty power and abundant provision for the nation. That miraculous event ended with these two verses:

The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries, when they heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel. So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest all around.
2 Chronicles 20:29-30, New Heart English Bible

What came next?

The after event

Final report card

Jehoshaphat ruled for 25 years, from age 35 until he was 60.

Part 1

We get part of Jehoshaphat’s final report card from the book of 1 Kings. He exterminated all the male cult prostitutes who remained in the land from his father’s reign. Well done. I don’t think we can properly grasp the depravity and grotesque nature of pagan religious practices. See this article about Baal and Asherah. The prophet Jeremiah also documented that Baal worship included child sacrifice—public, violent murders.

Part 2

Here’s the rest of Jehoshaphat’s final report card.

He walked in the way of Asa his father, and did not turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the LORD. However the high places were not taken away; neither as yet had the people set their hearts to the God of their fathers.
2 Chronicles 20:32-33, New Heart English Bible

Thoughts

Peaceful Readers, I must admit my disappointment at part of this report card. In the first chapter about King Jehoshaphat’s reign, we learned that he “took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah” (2 Chronicles 17:6b, NHEB).

What happened?

With the king’s evil daughter-in-law Athaliah and her minions slithering around, the pagan practices returned in style—and well-funded, to boot. Besides, did all the people of Judah who practiced pagan religions immediately change their ways when the king tore down their Asherah poles and other “high places”? Certainly not. Many of them were entrenched in their long-term religious ways. They loved the fire, the drama, the sex. The dancing, the chanting, the orgies. The shrieking, the blood, the murder.

Cultural Christianity vs. true believers

King Jehoshaphat, along with the Levites and priests, taught the people about the Lord. The king made God Almighty the nation’s deity and his worship their religion. But cultural or state-sponsored religion doesn’t equate to true believers. Some will eventually come on board in their hearts, but most won’t. Sadly, for many of the people of Judah, their hearts were elsewhere. Even though they experienced the power, protection and provision of the Lord when he delivered them from three armies, they didn’t love him. They loved their sin more.

King Jehoshaphat and the true believers loved and revered the one true God. They were the remnant in Judah.

Our preacher has talked about changes in church attendance in the U.S. Back in the day, people were expected to attend. It was a cultural thing. If you were a good family—or pretended to be—you went to church. If you were a businessman, you attended church. Contacts were made there and it was expected. Then came the 70s and 80s. Slowly but surely, things changed—from roughly 70% attending church in the 1960s to 20% today (statistics and trends here). At some point, going to church was no longer expected or necessary for business success or to look like a stable, responsible person. Our preacher rightly stated that the true church has been revealed. For the most part, people attend church because they actually want to—not due to cultural pressure or other people’s expectations. Personally, I’m thankful for that outcome.

The remnant of the Lord remains.

We see cultural Christianity when the numbers surge on Christmas and Easter. Otherwise, most people stay home. They don’t really get The Church Thing. It doesn’t make sense to them. (Yet.)

Epilogue

It’s time for the final events recorded about King Jehoshaphat.

Bad blood

“Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel” (1 Kings 22:44, NHEB). That was not a compliment. King Ahab was evil and so was his son Ahaziah, the next king of the northern kingdom. And—let’s not forget that Ahaziah’s sister, Athaliah, was Jehoshaphat’s daughter-in-law—an evil snake like her mother Jezebel.

The last thing recorded before his death was Jehoshaphat’s partnership with King Ahaziah to build ships bound for Tarshish. A prophet told Jehoshaphat that the ships would be destroyed because he partnered with Ahaziah. And they were.

Jehoshaphat experienced yet again the destruction inherent in partnering with evil. Did he put his head in his hands and repent before the Lord? I believe he did. His heart was right, but he made the wrong call at times. Can you relate to that? I sure can.

Relatives vs. family

The Lord commended King Jehoshaphat in scripture a number of times. He was a good king. A very good king. Sadly, the last thing recorded before his death tells us he didn’t faithfully consult the Lord for guidance and he didn’t understand the difference between “relatives” and “family.” I get that. It’s tricky—and very unpopular with many people.

The world encourages family loyalty
with no distinction between enemies and friends.

Relatives can be God’s enemies and our enemies. Our true family can’t. As Christians, our true family is for us and with us in faith. They know and love us. They know and love the Lord.

With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we absolutely must differentiate between relatives and family. Some relatives are church-goers with serious personality disorders. Some relatives are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They may be on staff at a church, attend faithfully, lead ministries, do public speaking and/or praying, etc. But what people see on Sunday isn’t what we see elsewhere. The Sunday Show is just that. A show. From this recent post:

What the good people saw at church wasn’t the truth. At all. That reminds me of Brandon’s World growing up. And then there was my dad, the narcissist, who had a totally different voice when he stood behind the lectern up front. Brandon’s sociopathic father was a church elder. My dad was our church’s minister of education for years. Yep. Very disturbing on both counts.

Your turn

Think of a relative who isn’t genuinely for you and your good; and who isn’t sincerely for God and his purposes. Translation: Some, if not all, of the fruit of the Spirit virtues are distinctly missing from this person’s life. Do your contacts with this relative reflect these truths? Are you rightly self-controlled, guarded and cautious? Are appropriate, protective boundaries in place? If a relative isn’t for you and your good, that person is your enemy. Remember that. The Holy Spirit gave me this important truth early in The Healing Journey:

Those who do evil and call it good
are not to be trifled with.

Seek the truth through prayer. Be discerning, wise and courageous. Follow where the Holy Spirit leads.

Current events

Let’s consider how current events mirror the things we covered today. Satanic/pagan worship? Yes. Snakes pushing lies? Yes. High officials who pose risks to their people? Yes.

Satanic rituals

How do satanic Baal and/or Molech worship and Asherah poles look today? They look like Burning Man (and other similar gatherings).

Burning Man

1. “This Was the Darkest Thing He Saw at Burning Man”

Shawn Ryan Clip featuring Bryce Crawford (14 minutes; brief language by the host)

Watch this outstanding video about evangelism in dark places. The guest, Bryce Crawford, blew me away. What a remarkable young man on fire for Jesus Christ. Very highly recommended.
♦ “That’s probably the darkest place I’ve ever been” (Burning Man segment begins at 5:50)
♦ LSD-laden orgy with 70,000 to 80,000 attendees, called Burners
♦ Three evangelism locations discussed: (1) The Satanic Temple—a museum in Salem, Massachusetts; (2) Burning Man in Nevada; (3) FurryCon (Furry Conventions)

For Bryce Crawford’s testimony, view this excellent, 11-minute video (brief language by the host).

2. “Is a Trip to Burning Man Worth the Medical Debt?”

Article by Owen Clarke of Outside

This article glamorizes Burning Man, calling it an “art and culture festival.” Needless to say, the nefariously-false advertising would be akin to calling Epstein Island “an exclusive meeting venue” or an evening at P. Diddy’s place “a party.” I don’t recommend reading any other articles on this website. Nevertheless, please make note of the highly-suspicious descriptions of how deaths and injuries occurred. A man who fell off a stack of cars that was 50 to 60 feet tall. A man who supposedly “hurled himself” into the Burning Man statue while it was on fire. He died. A woman killed when an “art car” (parade float) ran over her. Etcetera. (Injury stats below.)

“Burners”—I mean attendees—must bring their own water, food and shelter for the nine-day annual “community” in the Nevada desert in August. “Festivalgoers” have to sign a waiver acknowledging their own responsibility for any injuries, including their death.

Number of people injured at Burning Man
2024: more than 1,500
2023: 3,347
2022: 5,376

3. Articles regarding deaths at Burning Man

Reno Gazette Journal (August 2025)
Gateway Pundit (August 2025)
Gateway Pundit (August 2024)

Comments

Peaceful Readers, satanic worship includes blood sacrifices. People. Will. Die. I suspect the number of deaths at Burning Man (in Nevada since the 1990s) is grossly under-reported. How many people “went missing” during or after these “festivals”? People that no one would miss? People that no one even knew were there? How many bodies were buried or dumped elsewhere?

Burning Man’s LSD-filled orgies, the satanic rituals, the serious injuries and deaths, the lies—calling it art, culture and a festival—remind me of this scheme from the devil’s how-to list:

Satanic Scheme #2:
“I’d tell you truth is relative. ‘Your truth, my truth”—until nobody knows which way is up. I’d whisper, ‘As long as you’re happy, it’s right.’”

Please pray for people’s eyes to be opened before, during and after next month’s Burning Man. Pray for Burning Man—and gatherings like it—to end. Pray for a Great Awakening.

Valuetainment Short Clip; excellent PBD podcast with guest Andrew Wilson (15 minutes; brief language)

♦ What Islam’s ideology leads to
♦ What communism and socialism lead to
♦ Communism’s atheism and violence toward the orthodox church
♦ Communism’s link to abortion and feminism
♦ Secularizing of nations
♦ The woke left’s suicidal empathy and virtue signaling

2. “The REAL Reason Tucker Carlson Is Embracing Islam”

The Liz Wheeler Show, Episode 282
Tucker segment (thru 32:43)—highly recommended
Second segment: Marxist Roy Singham’s funding of leftist groups like Antifa; DOJ grand jury investigation

♦ Tucker Carlson’s new worldview
♦ Islam as a political ideology; goal: global conquest
♦ Muslims marching in U.S. cities, including Houston, Texas
♦ Tucker’s favorite British politician: pro-Islamist George Galloway
♦ Russian political operative Aleksandr Dugin—called “Putin’s Brain”
♦ Tucker’s alignment with Dugin
♦ Aleksandr Dugin’s hybrid of political ideology and theology:

Belief: Holy war between Russia & Muslims against Israel & the U.S.
Plan: “influence right-wing political operatives”
Goal: Russia taking power from the U.S.
Calls capitalism an “anti-White ideology”
Government oppression

3. ““A Tool Of Qatar?” – Tucker Carlson Sparks OUTRAGE Over Qatar Deal REVELATION”

Valuetainment Clip (watch thru 17:45; some language)

♦ The home Tucker bought in Qatar

♦ Failure to report Islamic/Muslim issues truthfully

4. Texas State Board of Education

Last month, my pal Charlene and I rode a bus chartered by Patriot Mobile to attend an important State Board of Education (SBOE) meeting in Austin regarding literature selections and social studies curriculum for public schools in Texas. Why? Because the left wanted to inject Islam and left-wing authors to indoctrinate public school students. We The People, with our presence and many people’s testimony, said no. Bible selections will be in classrooms again “for the first time in 60 years,” along with great classics (per the interview below with our SBOE representative, Brandon Hall). The decisions made will be in effect for 10 to 15 years—impacting a generation. A woman from Tennessee testified that more than 20 other states will adopt the Texas literature selections.

The board’s decisions will affect the nation.

Right vs. left
Conservatives supported the proposed social studies curriculum and literature selections.

Leftist testimony was given by Jewish lawyers, Muslims, and liberals, like the woman who called herself Butterfly Moon. Many of them argued that students are too busy or underprivileged to be expected to read at home. Fascinating. The liberals care oh-so-much about students, but don’t want them to learn very much. Got it.

How did the left’s testimony mirror the devil’s how-to list?

Satanic Scheme #3:
“I’d keep you busy. Too busy for prayer. Too busy for church. Too busy to ask eternal questions. I’d fill your hands with a phone so you’d never have time to fold them in prayer.”

And Satan would also keep students too busy for homework or reading. Just ask Butterfly Moon.

At the SBOE meeting, conservatives often dressed in red, white and blue. Liberals tended to dress in all black. Some of the liberals were angry, rude and argumentative. The conservatives tended to be respectful. Jewish lawyers stood outside with the Muslims. What an interesting partnership.

The Holy Spirit
As I left our house around 4:00 that morning, I heard a light swooshing sound. I looked up and saw our Texas flag brushing against the roof. The Holy Spirit gave me a Kiss On The Head—his sweet encouragement for the day. He wanted us to go, and we were so glad we did. We learned a lot.

We The People said yes to the Bible and no to the Quran.

More
Watch this episode of “War Room with Steve Bannon” (from 1:50 to 8:35), featuring Brandon Hall, the most vocal conservative on the State Board Of Education. Pray for Brandon Hall and other conservatives on the board—and their families. I can testify that this board is a battlefield for the minds of the children of Texas.

High officials

Politicians impact our lives—vastly. In this post, I explored the attack on the family instigated by our government, utilizing welfare policies and abortion laws.

Politicians partnered most-effectively with the devil.

Satanic Scheme #4:
“I’d break families. Get fathers absent, marriages bitter, and kids confused. If I can fracture the home, I can fracture the future.”

Are our country’s leaders honorable and trustworthy? Do they truly work for We The People? Let’s check out a few.

JD Vance—follow the money

One of the current roles of Vice President JD Vance entails fraud detection—a very important endeavor. In this Michael Knowles podcast, our vice president looks and sounds good. He really does. But is he? JD Vance was funded by billionaire Peter Thiel. We need to know a few things about JD’s mentor and funder, don’t we? Watch these podcasts and do some thinking. Is JD the right man to serve as the nation’s fraud detection czar? Would he be the right man to run for president?

1. “Meet Peter Thiel! (Everything He Doesn’t Want You to Know!)”

AwakenWithJP (thru 15:52; skip the ad at the end)

Learn extremely revealing details about Peter Thiel from comedian JP Sears. This sarcastic newsroom-style podcast moves quickly; I watched it twice. While crude in parts, I still highly recommend it.
♦ Mass surveillance
♦ Secret society
♦ Funded JD Vance (including $15M in 2022)
♦ Received $15 billion in federal government contracts
♦ Epstein connection
♦ And more…

2. “The FLOCK CAMERA Backlash Just Hit New Levels!”

Buddy Brown (watch thru 5:15)

♦ Hilarious, pointed advice
♦ Mentions Peter Thiel

3. “Peter Thiel FLEES To Argentina ‘Billionaire Bunker’”

Valuetainment Short Clips (watch thru 9:15)

With all the disturbing press lately, Peter Thiel fled to his new $12M home in Argentina. That’s where Hitler and his buds ended up after WW2. Do you believe Thiel’s “reason” for moving? Read between the lines.

Tulsi Gabbard—long gone

What’s up with the recent departure of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard? Is there more to the story than meets the eye?

1. “Tulsi Gabbard’s Speech At Charlie Kirk’s Memorial”

(Start at 5:36)

The coordinators of the memorial extravaganza for Charlie Kirk planned a decidedly Christian event, given Charlie’s strong Christian faith. In her speech, Tulsi Gabbard tried to quote Bible verses, but didn’t say the reference remotely right. She said only “Corinthians” without preceding it with “First” or “Second.” No church-goer would’ve said that. Her speech-writer totally blew it, and Tulsi didn’t check with anyone who’s actually opened a Bible and attended church. In her speech, Tulsi said God sits in every person’s heart just waiting for each person to choose him. Not correct. Again, her speech-writer blew it. And the red flags were staked in the ground.

What’s going on here? Find the answers in the next podcast.

2. “Inside Tulsi Gabbard’s Controlling Cult”

Liz Wheeler clip; excellent (25 minutes)

♦ Tulsi’s world—growing up in a pagan cult led by Chris Butler (founded in 1977)
♦ Her parents’ high positions in the cult
♦ Isolated from the outside world
♦ Cult leader’s demands for total obedience and secrecy
♦ Chris Butler’s scripting of Tulsi’s political career—legislation to propose, etc.
♦ Clip of Butler saying: “Check with the Lord in your heart” (a la the speech-writer above)
♦ Clip of Butler referring to himself as “a spiritual master”

A cult leader who wanted to control the world groomed, trained and controlled the political career of the Director of National Intelligence for the United States of America. I find that highly disturbing.

Tom Homan—exception to the rule?

I highly recommend Tom Homan’s immigration speech at the Faith & Freedom Coalition (16 minutes; includes language).

Is Tom Homan part of the miniscule remnant in Washington, D.C.? Not managed by a handler? Not funded by a billionaire? Not controlled by a cult leader? I certainly hope so, but I make no presumptions these days.

Identity

1. “He Wished Death on Charlie Kirk. Then One Question Changed Everything.”

Amala Ekpunobi (15 minutes; very strong language at the beginning)

Many people identify with their political party and/or activism without ever questioning anything. Is this true? Is this right? Is this helpful? This podcast about a leftist who changed his mind gives much food for thought, and includes the host’s own journey in this area. (Make note of the language warning above.)

2. The horse and the tree

Last month while Brandon and I were driving in the country, I noticed a horse standing under a dead tree. It was really hot outside. Perhaps the horse wondered why it wasn’t cool under his favorite tree anymore. Sadly, he just stood there getting fried. Even though shady trees were nearby, he kept standing under the dead tree.

Does that remind you of someone you know?

3. The cry for help

The same day, Brandon, Logan and I met at our favorite place in Weatherford—R&K Café II. The Christian atmosphere—with crosses on the wall; the warm, friendly service—where waitresses call you ”honey;” and the very good food—best squash casserole ever. I always look forward to the Bible verses they write lovingly on their chalkboards each day. I noticed a teenager—maybe 18 years old. One of his arms was covered with tattoos and his second arm was getting started. He wore a T-shirt with a rainbow on it. Under the rainbow, it said: “I’m Dead Inside.” What a loud cry for help. I prayed for him and his parents. No smiles. Just darkness…. They were surrounded by light, yet they sat in darkness.

Identity problems—“Who am I?” “What am I?” “Why am I here?”—can bring deep pain and destruction. From the devil’s how-to list:

Satanic Scheme #7:
“I’d attack your identity. I’d make you question who you are, where you belong, and whether you matter. I’d whisper shame so loud you can’t hear God’s voice of love.”

Noelle, thanks for your notes about the devil’s schemes.
The Bible verse below reminds me of you.

The remnant shines for the Lord at R&K Café II.

Peaceful Readers, we can feel disheartened in light of current events. This outstanding 11-minute clip of Pastor Allen Jackson will encourage you.

The three events

Shock of America—I’m going to make this part really short. What do we learn from these three events: the war with Syria (part 4), “the Lord fights for Judah” (part 3), and the things revealed in Jehoshaphat’s final report card?

1. Problems that were once solved can sneak back in.
2. Things go much better when we consult God first and obey him.

Does one of these truths speak to you today? Or maybe both of them? Spend some time in quiet reflection and prayer.

…at this present time also
there is a remnant, [chosen by] grace.

Romans 11:5, New Heart English Bible

Coming next

Part 6 will explore the number 10—in the Bible and my life. I’m really looking forward to it. Until then, thanks for reading and for Choosing Peace.
